Farm Days is a community event put on for Special Needs kids and their families held at Kitsap County Fairgrounds, Silverdale WA.
It was started by the Corey Family over 50 years ago. They have stepped down, but it has been taken up by the Farmdays.org.
It has provided a fun day for the families from Washington schools in Kitsap, Thurston, Jefferson, Mason, Pierce, and Clallam counties.
We have provided hay rides for the event consistently for over ten years.
– 2025 Farm Days –
The 2025 F.A.R.M. Days event went very well. We gave 1713 passengers fun rides through the woods at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and it took 113 trips. We had John Olson’s Allis-Chalmers RC as a touch-me-play-on display, Jim Cook’s Farmall M pulling the club wagon, Tom Lundgren’s International 400 pulling a John Deere wagon, Craig Thielen’s John Deere 520 pulling his John Deere wagon, and Dale Hardesty’s Fordson Major Diesel E1A tractor pulling another John Deere wagon. Last but not least was Frank Stricklin’s Bubble machine that is always a huge success.
A special thanks to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for volunteering to help with the event.
The club members who were in attendance were; Frank Stricklin, Craig Thielen, John Olson, Tom Lundgren, Jim Cook, John Graham, Dave Tonnessen, Randy King, Bob Campy, James Zurbrugg, Ken Griffin and Cheryl Griffin. The whole group worked like a well-oiled machine, loading, unloading, and manhandling the wheel chair ramp, keeping a headcount and trip count of the rides. They also served as footmen on each wagon for each trip, handing out Club Stickers to all the kids and of course that Wisconsin cheese curd dude brought donuts both days (thanks John Olson). Thank you to Justin Lundgren for providing hauling services.
Everyone did a great job for safety of the riders so we had no injuries nor an emergency, which was a blessing. We only had two small mechanical tractor glitches, one on a John Deere and one on a Fordson Major and both were remedied quickly.
